can Bose 161 speakers be connected to a stereo with RCA outputs?
Question:
I recently preached 1980 era Sanyo receiver with RCA speaker outputs
I connected the Bose 161 speakers using male connectors with one end stripped to attach to the speakers. The sound was very poor .
the same speakers work attached to spring speaker connectors on another system.
Do Bose speakers need to be connected by bare wires? Is there a work around?
I appreciate any feedback that can be given.
Answer: You might have a wire reversal which would send an out of phase signal to the speakers causing weak sound, flip-flop the connections at the splice and see if that sounds better.
