How to connect my laptop to home stereo?

Hey everyone,
I am trying to figure out how to connect my laptop to my home stereo and speakers so that I can DJ my New Years party. Any suggestions on what I need to do and what software I need to buy? Thanks in advance!


Answer: real easy,if u have music on your labtop already ur good 2 go,just go 2 radio shack an get a cable called a Y cable.(cuz it looks like the letter Y)make sure the single end has a 8mm jack(headphone plug)thats the side u plug into ur labtop and the other 2 parts are going 2 b RCA,those r gonna go into ur reciever off ur stereo and it should b the AUX ports ur pluging the RCA's into and swiich ur reciever 2 AUX mode.thats it and this trick also works with an i-pod.
